About Us
We built the PayPal fee calculator because PayPal's fees were too hard to figure out before you hit send.
Why we built it
PayPal reveals its fee at the final step of every transaction — after you have already chosen the amount, the recipient and the funding source. That's too late for freelancers pricing an invoice, sellers deciding what to charge, or families working out how much someone abroad will really receive. We wanted to flip that around: show the fee first, always.
The result is a fast, free calculator that answers the questions we kept asking ourselves: how much will I pay, what will the other person get, and what should I charge so the fee doesn't eat my profit?
How the tool works
Every month we read PayPal's published fee pages for 44 countries and store the rates in an embedded dataset, so the figures you see are current, not guesses. The calculator combines:
- the base percentage for commercial (Goods & Services) payments,
- the cross-border surcharge for international transfers,
- the fixed fee in the receiving currency, and
- a monthly mid-market exchange-rate snapshot, so you can work in the sender's or receiver's currency.
Everything runs in your browser — nothing you type ever leaves your device.
Who this is for
- Freelancers invoicing clients overseas who want to know the net amount they'll receive.
- Online sellers who need to calculate PayPal fees for goods and services before setting a price.
- Anyone sending money to family or friends abroad who wants to know what the other side actually receives.
A word of honesty
We are an independent tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to PayPal, Inc. Fees can change at any time, our monthly snapshot may lag behind PayPal's latest update, and PayPal's own currency-conversion rate usually carries a surcharge. Always confirm the final figure on PayPal's own pages before you send or charge.
