Frequently asked questions

What is the PayPal goods and services fee calculator?

It shows the full commercial rate PayPal charges for sales: base percentage, fixed fee and, for cross-border sales, the international surcharge. Freelancers and sellers use it to price invoices so the fee never eats their margin.

How much is the PayPal G&S fee?

Domestic G&S is typically 2.9–3.5% plus a fixed fee (US: 3.49% + $0.49; UK: 2.9% + £0.30; India: 4.4% + ₹3; Philippines: 5.4% + ₱15). Cross-border G&S adds 1–4% more depending on the receiving country.

Can I add the PayPal fee to my invoice?

Yes. Switch the main calculator to “I want to receive”, enter the net you want to keep, and it grosses up the invoice so the buyer covers the fee. Note some regions restrict surcharging, so check your seller agreement.

G&S vs Friends & Family — what is the difference?

G&S includes Buyer Protection and charges the full commercial fee. Friends & Family has no buyer protection and is usually free domestically. Use G&S for all sales; misusing F&F for purchases can trigger holds.
