Reverse PayPal Fee Calculator
Instead of asking “what will they get?”, reverse mode asks “what must they send so I keep exactly what I want?” Enter the net amount, and the calculator grosses it up: gross = (net + fixed) / (1 − rate). Essential for invoices where the buyer covers the fee.

Frequently asked questions
How does the reverse PayPal fee calculator work?
Switch the main calculator to “I want to receive” and type the net you want to keep. It solves gross = (net + fixed) / (1 − rate) using your country pair’s base + cross-border + fixed fee, then shows the gross to request and the fee breakdown.
Example: I want to receive $100 in the US — what do I charge?
At 3.49% + $0.49 domestic US, gross = (100 + 0.49) / (1 − 0.0349) ≈ $104.12. Invoice $104.12 and you keep $100 after PayPal’s $4.12 fee.
Does reverse mode work internationally?
Yes. Pick two different countries and reverse mode uses the combined base + cross-border rate plus the receiving fixed fee, converted at the mid-market snapshot. Try US → India to see the higher gross caused by the ~8.4% combined rate.
Can I use reverse mode for Friends & Family?
Domestic F&F is free, so gross equals net. International F&F still applies the cross-border percentage, and reverse mode grosses that up with no fixed fee.
